Coffee Meets Bagel, Inc. ( “we,” or “us”) have instituted this Biometric Information Privacy Policy to describe how our vendor Persona collects, stores, uses, and discloses biometric information received in connection with the identity verification services that Persona provides to us.
Biometric information
As used in this Biometric Information Privacy Policy, “biometric information” means a scan of your facial geometry extracted from photos and videos you upload during the identity verification process.
Purposes for the collection of biometric information
Persona collects, stores, uses, and discloses biometric information to verify your identity and prevent fraud, in support of making our platform as a safe place to meet online. Your biometric information may also be used to improve the services Persona provides, as set out in Persona’s Privacy Policy.
Disclosure
We will not permit Persona to disclose your biometric information to any party other than its vendors, for the purpose of supporting Persona’s identity verification services, unless:
You or your legally authorized representative provide consent to such disclosure;
Disclosure is required by local, state, or federal law; or
Disclosure is required pursuant to a valid warrant or subpoena.
Retention schedule and destruction
Unless retention is otherwise required by law or legal process, Persona retains biometric information until the earliest of the following:
The initial purpose for collecting and obtaining the biometric information has been satisfied; or
2 years from when you provided the biometric information.
Persona will destroy or dispose of biometric information as required by applicable law. For example, Persona may destroy electronic records of biometric information through such processes as overwriting magnetic media, degaussing, or physical destruction, and Persona may dispose of paper records by such processes as shredding or incineration.
Information storage and security
Persona uses commercially reasonable organizational, technical, and administrative methods designed to protect biometric information within its organization.
